[0:00] Hey guys and gals! In this video, I'm going to show you something really cool with HighLevel Communities. If you're not familiar with it, HighLevel has a built-in Communities feature, similar to Skool or Circle. It also includes a client portal where users can track affiliate links, access documents, view invoices, and more.
The current portal is pretty basic in terms of appearance and functionality, especially the portal itself. But now HighLevel has released a complete upgrade with a new Unified Client Portal. It looks much better, and in this video I'll show you how to enable it. I'll also show you how to preview the new experience first, so you can make sure everything looks right before making the switch—especially if you've added custom code or customized your portal. I'm going to enable it myself because it looks so much nicer, and I'm excited to show it to you.
[0:56] Before we get started, make sure to subscribe to the channel, like this video, and leave a comment below. If you're new to HighLevel or thinking about starting your own agency, check out my affiliate link below. It includes a 30-day free HighLevel trial, a free bootcamp, and access to my free community, where I'm happy to help you with your HighLevel journey. Let's jump into it, and I'll see you on the other side.
[1:20] [Music]
[1:26] We're inside my community, and before I switch everything over, I want to show you what the current experience looks like. This used to be my private community, but I've recently opened it to the public. You can grab the link below if you'd like to join. Feel free to ask questions, participate in discussions, or attend my weekly free office hours where I help answer HighLevel questions. Across the top, you'll find Discussions, Learning, Courses, Events, Leaderboards, Members, and About. If you go to the homepage, you'll see the current client portal.
[1:59] As you can see, it's fairly empty and doesn't look very polished. To be fair, I'm only using a small portion of its features. I'm not using it for customer documents, invoices, or similar resources, so if you are, you'll probably see more information here. Even so, the overall design has always felt very basic. The navigation and wording aren't ideal, which is why I'm excited about this update.
[2:17] Before you can use the new portal, keep in mind that it's currently a beta feature. That means you may need to enable it in Labs. If you're not the agency owner, you'll need to ask the agency owner to turn it on for you.
[2:25] Switch to your Agency View, then go to Settings > Labs.
Open the Sub-Account tab and scroll down. This is where HighLevel releases new beta features before they become generally available. You'll find the New Unified Client Portal Experience option. There's also a View Gallery button where you can preview screenshots of the new interface before enabling it.
[3:03] The gallery shows the redesigned course homepage, estimates, invoices, community files, and the updated community experience. Clients can access their own estimates, uploaded files, announcements, and different community channels from one unified portal. Overall, it's a huge visual improvement.
[3:34] Once you've enabled the feature in Labs, you can activate it for specific sub-accounts. Use the Activate Features option, where you can enable visibility or access individually or with bulk actions. After that, return to your sub-account.
[3:57] Inside your sub-account, go to Memberships. In the upper-right corner, you'll see Try the New Client Portal. Click it to open the setup window.
[4:10] Before enabling it, you can click Open Preview to see exactly how the new portal will look. The redesigned dashboard is much cleaner, more professional, and provides quick access to important information. You'll also see your communities displayed in a much more organized layout.
[4:33] Open any community to see the redesigned channels and navigation. If you return to the dashboard, you'll notice the Courses section has also been redesigned. It gives users a better overview and lets them quickly resume where they left off. Customers can also easily access their invoices.
[4:54] The new portal also includes estimates, contracts, shared files, and affiliate links, making everything much easier for clients to access from one place. Overall, the experience is much more polished.
[5:09] I'm ready to enable it, so I'll simply check the box to turn it on for everyone.
From this point forward, anyone visiting my community will automatically experience the new Unified Client Portal.
If you'd like, you can also customize it further using your own CSS, but I'm happy with the default design.
[5:33] After enabling it, I noticed the portal didn't switch immediately. Refreshing the page didn't update it, so I decided to log out and log back in.
[5:49] Once I logged back in, the new portal appeared immediately. If you don't see the new interface right away, simply sign out and sign back in. Active sessions may need to refresh before the new experience becomes available.
Now my entire community will see the redesigned client portal whenever they log in.
[6:15] As you can see, the new Unified Client Portal is a massive improvement. The community pages, course homepage, and overall navigation feel much more polished. It transforms the portal from something that felt like an early startup product into a much more professional application. HighLevel also has more improvements planned over the coming weeks, bringing it even closer to platforms like Skool.
[6:46] I've been using the community feature for nearly two years, so I'm really excited to see this complete redesign and the direction HighLevel is taking. Thanks for watching! Don't forget to subscribe to the channel, like this video, and leave a comment below. I'll see you in the next one.
