[0:00] Hey guys and gals, welcome to my Alpha Blossom GHL Academy YouTube channel. In this video, I'm going to show you how you can create a smart list inside of your Alphablossom CRM or your Highlevel account, which will allow you to identify your private group members. So, in High Lee, we can have a private community, kind of like a Facebook group or a school group, and you may want to send emails just to those people specifically.

[1:18] So, here we are inside of my community. Now, this community was originally a private community for only my paid members, but recently I've moved some things into a private channel and I decided to open this up to the public. So, if you're interested in learning more about High Level, you want support, things like that, please feel free to join my group. The link is down below in the description.

[2:12] One of our members was asking before I start actually if you haven't used the highlevel communities if you think about like a Facebook group or school communities. High Level is meant to allow you to have your own private communities where you have more control. Facebook groups it's really common for people to get shut down just randomly for no reason. So having your own private community is really a great way to have more control and serve people better.

[2:53] Highlevel communities have come a long ways. You can do lives inside of the groups now, use their own live streaming, or connect a third party source like ecam live or Streamyard. You can download recordings, post these in the community, schedule events, and even host courses. If you haven't looked at it for a long time, I recommend taking a second look because it has really improved.

[3:51] One of my members was asking if she could tag her community members to send email campaigns just to them. Yes, there is a way to do that both for people that are already in your community and for new members joining. First, head into your CRM, which is Alpha Blossom CRM based on High Level. Then go into memberships, look at your communities and groups, and know the name of the community you want to work with.

[4:42] Next, go into contacts. Add a smart list. Smart lists are lists you can create based on all kinds of criteria to filter people. Name it Alpha Blossom Group Members. Go to advanced filters, scroll to client portal groups, change this to “is”, select the group you want, and apply. You’ll see all your members in the list.

[5:36] Now, select all contacts in the smart list and add a tag. Name the action “add tag to Alpha Blossom group members”. Search for the tag “alpha blossom group members all” and create it if it doesn’t exist. Add the tag to all contacts. This will do a bulk action to all members, which you can track by clicking on the progress bar.

[6:24] When sending an email campaign, go to marketing > emails. Create a blank test campaign. Schedule the email and choose the smart list or contacts from tags. Sending to either will reach only the members you tagged or added to the smart list. Smart lists are the easiest way to filter your community for targeted email campaigns.

[7:40] Important: new members joining the community won’t automatically have the tag unless you set up an automation. Create a new workflow with trigger “group access granted” and select the appropriate group. Add a filter for the group, then add contact tag “alpha blossom group members all” so new members receive it automatically.

[8:44] Optionally, add a small delay in the workflow like one minute to ensure everything syncs properly. Save and publish the workflow. This ensures any new member joining the group will automatically get tagged and appear in your smart list, keeping your campaigns organized.

[9:00] Return to contacts > smart list. Customize it to filter by group or by tag. This ensures both existing and new members are included. By doing this, sending out campaigns to a smart list or using tags will now work seamlessly for everyone.

[9:59] Now your smart list is synchronized with tags. When sending campaigns, you can choose either the smart list or tags. This ensures your messages reach all group members, both existing and future ones, without missing anyone.

[10:47] Inside workflows, you can perform additional actions for the tagged group. Click on a member to see the tag applied. This approach simplifies campaign management and helps you engage with your community more effectively.

[11:18] Highle Communities have improved a lot. They are now a strong alternative to Facebook groups for private communities, offering tools to host lives, post content, schedule events, and manage members efficiently.
